At Wesley Research Institute we are especially proud of the research developed and investments into innovation leading to faster diagnosis, better treatment options and ultimately cures for debilitating illnesses and diseases.

High-impact Research
WRI delivers ethical, high-impact research through investigator-led studies, clinical trials, biobanking and strategic grants. Our work spans research themes including spatial biology, coeliac disease and immune health, cardiovascular, cancer, neurology, pulmonary hypertension, critical care and health services.

Translating Research Into Better Care
As UnitingCare’s official research partner, WRI is embedded within one of Australia’s most extensive private healthcare systems. This integration provides direct access to a diverse patient population and fosters strong collaboration.

Our model brings together doctors, nurses, allied health professionals, scientists, academics and patients to co-create research that improves care and quality of life. By bridging the gap between research and clinical practice, WRI helps deliver faster diagnoses, better treatments and improved recovery pathways.

Collaboration That Drives Change
Strategic partnerships with universities, government and industry, along with the generous support of our donors and community, fuel WRI’s ability to grow, innovate, and lead cutting-edge research. We remain focused on delivering real health impact and shaping a healthier future for Queensland and beyond.
