Update: Cyber Incident Media Release

Shield with a locked lock in the centre.

As previously advised, on Sunday 25 April, UnitingCare Queensland (UCQ) was impacted by a cyber incident. As a result of this incident, some of our organisation’s digital and technology systems have since been inaccessible.

UCQ have confirmed that the external group claiming responsibility for this incident has identified themselves as REvil/Sodin. UCQ have engaged leading experts and government authorities to investigate if an information breach occurred. Due to the nature of the incident, it is not possible for UCQ to provide a resolution timeframe.

Previously, Wesley Medical Research advised that staff emails were not accessible. This has now been resolved.

We wanted to assure you that our cloud-based systems including clinical trials management, grants management, fundraising and biobank platforms are unaffected, and we continue to provide new and emerging treatment options for our patients.

More information will be provided as it becomes available.
