Life-changing research conducted at St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital and Wesley Hospital is playing a major role in patients’ outcomes and recovery post-cardiac surgery.

At a recent Advocates event, researchers Dr Jonathon Fanning and Exercise Physiologist Jenna Taylor discussed their innovative research designed to get patients back on their feet; returning to work and life sooner.

  • Exercise Physiologist Jenna Taylor spoke on her research investigating whether high-intensity interval training during cardiac rehabilitation can deliver better outcomes for patients undergoing cardiac surgery than the traditional post-surgery rehabilitation routine.
  • Specialist Anaesthetist Dr Jonathon Fanning spoke about his research into methods to reduce the risk of bleeding and clotting complications during and after cardiac surgery.
This event is kindly supported by the Rosalie Martin Memorial Fund.
