Clinical Research Assistant

We are currently seeking a Clinical Research Assistant.

Purpose of the Position

To provide general administrative assistance and support to the Wesley Medical Research Clinical Trials team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

General Administration Activities:

  • Undertake general administrative duties including booking and confirming participant appointments, scanning and document filing
    • Organise and schedule appointments/meetings, internally and externally, as necessary
    • Responsible for coordinating participant reimbursements
    • Assist with Managing laboratory equipment records including but not limited to fridge and freezer temperature logs
    • Assist with stock control and ordering of clinical supplies
    • Maintain study trackers as required
    • Help with clerical duties relating to each individual clinical trial including filing and site file organisation.

Research Activities:

  • Allocate and arrange storage for study folders, study specific equipment, investigational product, participant materials and pathology supplies throughout the life cycle of the study
    • Support in the collection, preparation, and shipment of samples, including pathology samples, blood and imaging discs, as required
    • Support in the preparation and maintenance of required study files, including but not limited to, regulatory binders, study specific source documentation, and other materials throughout the lifecycle of the study
    • Assist the clinical research coordinator in preparing for participant visits
    • Assist clinical research coordinator with data capture and entry for research projects as requested
    • Arrange archiving of completed research projects and update associated trackers
    • Work with the clinical research coordinator to assist with recruitment and screening of patients
    • Ensure all research is conducted in accordance with Wesley Medical Research SOPs, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Guidelines, study specific protocols and all applicable national and international laws and regulations

Qualifications / Minimum Requirements

Essential

  • Computer literacy and familiarity with MS Office 365 and SharePoint
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to liaise with a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Outstanding time management and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Fast and accurate typing/data entry skills
  • Flexibility to work additional days as needed
  • Strong team player with flexibility to work both autonomously and as part of a team

Desirable

  • Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology
  • Previous experience working in a hospital/healthcare setting
  • Assistant in Nursing or Enrolled Nurse Qualifications
  • Experience or willingness to learn new software programs
