Wesley Medical Research Clinical Research Grant Round 2020

Wesley Medical Research is delighted to launch its 2020 Clinical Research Grant Round.

Wesley Medical Research is a not-for-profit organisation that focuses on improving patient care and quality of life through clinical research.  As the official research organisation for UnitingCare Hospitals, the research activity undertaken by Wesley Medical Research aims to span all UnitingCare hospitals including The Wesley Hospital, St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital, Buderim Private Hospital and St Stephen’s Hospital (Hervey Bay).

Healthcare professionals (including but not limited to doctors, nurses, pharmacists, allied health professionals) who work at any of the four UnitingCare Hospitals are invited to apply to Wesley Medical Research for funding to conduct investigator-initiated clinical research projects.

In the 2020 Clinical Research Grant Round, Wesley Medical Research has $2.165 million available for allocation to projects in defined research areas and UnitingCare hospitals, as outlined in the table below. This amount is available for the entire applicant pool, not per applicant. 

A maximum funding duration of 2 years applies to all grant types.

*PLEASE NOTE: Proposals for research projects that fall outside of the specified research/facilities above are eligible to be submitted if a cash contribution (from any source) is confirmed in the application.  Wesley Medical Research will provide dollar-for-dollar match funding (up to $150,000 available) for projects with confirmed cash contributions that are approved for funding.

How to Apply

All applicants are strongly encouraged to read the 2020 WMR Clinical Research Application Guidelines and ensure that they are eligible for funding before starting their applications. The guidelines and other supporting documents are provided below.

Applications must be submitted online via the SmartyGrants website at www.wesleyresearch.smartygrants.com.au.

Applications open at 9am on Monday 24 February 2020 and close at 5pm on Wednesday 25 March 2020.  Late applications will not be accepted.
