The health and safety of employees, patients, volunteers, tenants, clients, and customers is our number one priority during the COVID-19 crisis we are all experiencing.
Our Executive Leadership Team has developed a live crisis management plan to ensure health and safety remains at the forefront, and we can adapt our response as the COVID-19 situation evolves.
We are in close contact with the UnitingCare Queensland Crisis Management Team and, as Wesley Medical Research is located on The Wesley Hospital campus, we adhere to direction provided by UnitingCare Queensland as well as state and federal government instruction.
Working closely with researchers, scientists, clinicians, patients, pharmaceutical companies, our ethics committee, and Board, we have implemented strategies to reduce the impact of COVID-19 on our patients and staff, ensuring that we have the ongoing safety of our patients at the forefront of any decisions we make, as we potentially encounter disruption over the coming weeks and months.
Right now our focus is to continue our core operations to the best of our ability and deliver the exceptional service and care that patients and clients expect. Where we can, we have transitioned our clinical trial patient visits to remote visits.
We are actively working with local, state, national and global research partners to contribute to and support efforts that will minimise the impact of COVID19. If ever we needed to work together, it is now.
We offer our clinical trials unit, laboratory space, biobank service, and expertise to support these efforts.
During this period, we are committed to identifying new trials and innovative treatments that we can roll out as safely and as fast as we can.
Now, more than ever, medical research is a critical service to the health and wellbeing of all.
Now, more than ever, we thank you – our donors, supporters, and advocates – for your unwavering belief in what we do, your regular and consistent commitment and your unfailing dedication to advancing medical discoveries.
Now, more than ever, we rely on working together to continue giving hope and changing lives throughout this crisis.
We will continue to update this page with any changes in circumstances.
