What would we like from you?
We would like your consent to collect and store:
- Excess tissue from your surgery at The Wesley Hospital which is not needed for diagnosis and would otherwise be destroyed.
- 20-30mL of blood, taken during surgery.
- Your clinical data, which includes information such as age, medical condition, test results and treatment.
Please note: All samples and data are de-identified (made anonymous) to keep your information confidential.
Consent and your rights
To ensure participants fully understand their rights our team will discuss with you exactly what is involved. We will go through the Consent Form with you, answering any questions you may have. We will also provide a detailed Patient Information Sheet to take home with you.
We encourage patients to ask questions and to discuss donating excess tissue to the Ventyx Wesley Research Institute Tissue Bank with their friends and family.
It is always your decision whether or not to donate your tissue, and you are entitled to withdraw your consent at any time.
